If you’re ready to grow, shape the future of fintech and join an ambitious, high-performing team, this is the place for you.
This role is deeply embedded in the product. You’ll tackle real complexity, not just build features. Mollie’s product involves intricate financial operations like splitting money and payment routing, offering genuinely interesting challenges that demand thoughtful engineering solutions. This is a chance to shape products and solve problems that accelerate business growth across Europe.
You’ll contribute to maturing an "underbaked" product area, giving you significant flexibility and freedom in development. Working with a dedicated senior engineer as a mentor, you’ll grow directly alongside the product and the team. Your contributions will directly unlock new revenue streams for Mollie and help thousands of businesses manage their finances effortlessly.
Own smaller problems and deliver defined pieces of work end-to-end — from shaping to building, testing, and measuring feature performance.
Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems, ensuring consistency and avoiding breaking changes.
Write high-quality, testable, readable, and maintainable code in at least one object-oriented language like PHP, Java, or TypeScript.
Contribute to solution conversations, helping identify tasks and collaborating with the team and stakeholders to overcome obstacles.
3+ years of software engineering experience.
Proven ability to commit quality code in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, PHP, or similar).
Experience working with large-scale applications.
Demonstrated experience in designing systems and handling concepts like queuing, caching, concurrency, fault tolerance, and scalability.
A product-minded approach, allowing you to ask the right questions and contribute to solution conversations that impact wider business goals.
Strong English communication skills to effectively collaborate with the team and stakeholders.
At Mollie, growth is personal. We believe everyone should have the chance to develop their skills, explore new challenges and shape their career on their own terms.
You’ll get regular feedback and performance reviews to support your development, with fair and transparent salary reviews along the way. Many Mollies move into new roles or take on new projects to stretch themselves, and we actively hire from within to help you take the next step.
No matter if you’re aiming for promotion, exploring a different career path or building new skills, you’ll be supported with the tools, trust and opportunities to grow your way.
If you’re excited by the idea of building what’s next, for yourself and for thousands of businesses across Europe, we’d love to hear from you. Apply with your CV (in English) using the form below.
