We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer specializing in electronic and telecommunication equipment to ensure the reliability, availability, and long term performance of production assets. The role focuses on defining and optimizing maintenance processes, supporting equipment lifecycle management, and guaranteeing that electronic boards, avionics assemblies, and mechanical components are manufactured, tested, and maintained in compliance with operational and quality standards.

The ideal candidate is methodical, hands on, and skilled in diagnosing issues, improving systems, and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies in technologically advanced environments.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Process Engineering

• Define, implement, and continuously improve maintenance methodologies, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for production equipment and test benches used in electronic and telecommunication manufacturing.
• Develop maintenance plans, schedules, and SOPs, ensuring alignment with equipment criticality, failure modes, and operational requirements.
• Maintain and optimize maintenance documentation, including technical manuals, equipment logs, MRO inventories, and component tracking.
• Support spare parts strategies, including stock level optimization, supplier coordination, and obsolescence management for electronic and electromechanical components.

Equipment & Asset Reliability

• Ensure high reliability and availability of production systems, including ICT/telecom benches, PCB assembly stations, avionics testing units, robotic cells, and environmental test chambers.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and define corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
• Apply reliability engineering tools such as FMEA, PFMEA, MTBF/MTTR analysis, and statistical performance monitoring (SPC, Cp, Cpk).
• Collaborate with design and process teams to ensure Design for Maintenance and long-term sustainability of equipment.

Industrial Processes & Support

• Support production teams by defining and optimizing methods, manufacturing flows, and equipment utilization, ensuring maintainability and operational stability.
• Conduct Time & Methods analysis and identify opportunities to reduce downtime, improve OEE, and streamline production steps.
• Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production routings in ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Contribute to capacity analysis, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and flow chart development for maintenance-relevant processes.

Digitalization & Automation

• Support the introduction and maintenance of automation systems, including sensors, control systems, robotics, and digital manufacturing tools.
• Implement and leverage Digital Twin, simulation tools, predictive analytics, and IIoT platforms to enhance maintenance efficiency.
• Participate in MES/MOM integration activities (ISA‑95 / ISA‑88) to ensure real-time visibility of equipment status and maintenance logs.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety, environmental, and industrial standards (IEC 62443, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Maintain up-to-date equipment certifications, calibrations, and verification procedures.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electronic, Industrial, Mechatronics Engineering, or related fields.
• Proven experience in maintenance engineering, particularly within electronic manufacturing or high‑reliability environments.
• Strong understanding of electronic and telecommunication production equipment, including diagnostic tools, test systems, and automated stations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, process documentation, and equipment manuals.
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluency in Italian and English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automation, robotics, and machine integration.
• Knowledge of digital manufacturing, IoT systems, and predictive maintenance tools.
• Background in avionics or electronic circuit assembly processes.
• Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity (IEC 62443) and compliance frameworks.
