Data Scientist - Artificial Intelligence

In this role, you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world.

Your Role And Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with team members, both business and technical, to understand data‑driven challenges and opportunities
• Maintain a strong focus on learning, quality, and continuous improvement
• Support the analysis and resolution of data inconsistencies and model performance issues
• Assist in developing and experimenting with machine learning models and analytical solutions to improve insights and decision‑making
• Contribute to data preprocessing, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis to enhance model performance
• Help document technical requirements and support the development of data‑driven solutions

Preferred Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Minimum 2 years working as a data scientist with demonstrated involvement in AI‑related projects
• Academic background in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and statistical modeling techniques through coursework or academic projects
• Eagerness to learn and support technical teams in identifying and resolving data‑related challenges
• Understanding of data modeling concepts and database principles
• Basic programming skills in SQL, Python, R or equivalent language for data analysis and model development
• Interest in obtaining relevant certifications in data science, machine learning, or cloud‑based analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

• Agile mindset—willingness to learn, adapt to changing priorities, take initiative, and apply critical thinking

One Of The Following

• Basic understanding of data governance principles and best practices
• Exposure to data visualization and storytelling using analytical tools
• Familiarity with cloud‑based machine learning concepts and model deployment basics
• Foundational knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data preprocessing techniques
• Availability to travel is required
