Digital Services Operation Specialist

D-Orbit is looking for a Digital Services Operation Specialist to join our Space Cloud Business Unit based in Fino Mornasco. You will become part of a dynamic growing group responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Space Cloud services acting as the primary operational interface between customers internal engineering teams and business stakeholders. The role owns the successful execution of customer missions from contract signature through service completion ensuring delivery on time quality and within budget.

You will also work with the team to support and manage the software integration of algorithms and applications within our fleet of Intelligent Network Nodes (INNs) development of operational procedures and features contribute to the development of new tools/applications as well as defining new processes to support Space Cloud infrastructure for all current and future INNs.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Responsible for customer journey starting from contract signature until completion of the contract.
• Support integration and verification activities between customer applications and Space Cloud infrastructure.
• Lead onboarding and technical discussions with customers to identify needs and perform requirements breakdown operational objectives and delivery milestones.
• Promote customer satisfaction while protecting D-Orbits commercial and operational interests.
• Adaptive and intuitive approach to solving issues with scheduling conflicts and administrative tasks.
• Manage and schedule operations on Space Cloud infrastructure by interacting with the Flight Operations team. Both on ground and in-orbit.
• Gather and manage monthly logs and service statistics.
• Identify and implement service performance improvements through processes or product requests.
• Execute service operation procedures (e.g sending customer the SDK validating customer application on the EM scheduling ops sending final results to customers etc.)
• Proactively review service operations procedures; maintain and update them for continuous improvement.
• Ability to meet bespoke contract elements such as new technology integration and operation cocktails.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of team processes and methodologies through development of new tools and applications with key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements

We are looking for individuals with the following skills:

• Resilience and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work hard in a team setting to meet tight schedules.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
• At least 2 years experience in relevant cloud or digital infrastructure management activities.
• Familiarity with using any Linux based distribution and appreciation of application development on Windows and Linux.
• Familiarity with typical software development methodologies and release versioning processes. (e.g. Git/Mercurial and CI/CD pipelines)
• Understanding of typical Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) to ensure back-end processes complement the front-end interface.
• Working knowledge of Python programming language. Ability to inspect Python scripts understand their structure and debug high level operations
• Capability of working autonomously.
• Complimentary experience and or skills to the above will be considered.
• Experience with test-driven development.

Nice to have skills

• Experience with software development sprint management
• Experience with software development time/cost estimations

Education

Bachelors degree in any relevant area such as aerospace engineering electronic engineering computer science or automation software development with proven experience in participating in projects development.

Language

Full professional proficiency of English language is mandatory.

We offer a base salary range of 35000 - 45000 gross per year for this role depending on experience and location plus a performance-based variable component. Final compensation will be determined based on experience skills location and internal consistency across comparable roles.
