Job Purpose

Responsible for reviewing vendor technical evaluation and deviation lists from company standards for rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, and gas turbines.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Review equipment datasheets and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in technical clarification meetings with vendors.
  • Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to improve safety, reliability, and throughput.
  • Develop project specifications with colleagues, including those from other engineering disciplines.
  • Develop, test, and evaluate theoretical designs.
  • Discuss and solve complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers, and customers.
  • Manage projects using engineering principles and techniques.
  • Plan and design new production processes.
  • Produce details of specifications and outline designs.
  • Recommend modifications following prototype test results.
  • Use research, analytical, conceptual, and planning skills, including mathematical modelling and computer-aided design.
  • Consider implications of cost, safety, and time constraints.
  • Monitor and commission plant and systems.

Requirements

Educational & Technical Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline.
  • 10-15 years of experience in Oil and Gas industry petrochemical projects.
  • Good working knowledge of Aramco standards and procedures and International standards.
  • Good knowledge of English, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced computer skills with MS-Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.

With minimum 20 or more years of experience in:

  • Developing corrosion management programs.
  • Developing corrosion monitoring systems and experience in on-stream inspections (OSI) and In-line inspections (ILI).
  • Risk-based inspection (RBI) based on API-580 methodology.
  • Developing coating plans, solutions for coating failures, and cathodic protection plans.
  • Aramco's APCS coating systems, applications, and limitations.
  • Developing corrosion controls, corrosion loops, and damage mechanisms.
  • Performing corrosion risk assessments and experience with various inhibition chemicals and performances including ILSS.
  • Evaluating and drawing conclusions from Corrosion Monitoring System data.
  • Troubleshooting corrosion issues by root cause failure analysis (RCFA).
  • Developing and updating Corrosion Control Documents (CCDs) across project lifecycle.
  • Reviewing existing inspection program reports and recommending corrosion monitoring methods.
  • Developing and implementing corrosion control and mitigation strategies for in-plant assets and pipelines.
  • Conducting corrosion surveys to identify high-risk areas and recommending corrective actions.
  • Developing dashboards including Integrity Operating Window (IOWs) and KPIs.
  • Performing Management of Change (MOC) related to metallurgy and corrosion management.
  • Participating in discipline technical bid evaluation and post-purchase order manufacturer's document review process.
  • Reviewing detailed design vendor packages for new/existing facilities on metallurgy and corrosion management.
  • Familiarity and experience with Aramco Standards, Practices, and Procedures.
  • Preferably holding NACE Specialist Certification, NACE Corrosion Technologist, API-571, and NACE CP level II.
  • Deep working knowledge of API-571, API-579, API-580, API-570, and API-510.
  • Active affiliation with professional societies like IMechE, ASME, API, ISO, NACE, TWI is highly desirable.
