As a Database Administrator, you'll be at the heart of this function—designing, managing, and securing the databases that power our business.Your Role & ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for defining and documenting the structure of our database systems to support long-term business success. Your expertise will guide the configuration, installation, and maintenance of database management systems (DBMS), ensuring optimal performance, reliability and possible evolution.Key responsibilities include:Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain DBMS across multiple environments to ensure high availability and performanceSecurity & Access Control: Manage user access and implement stringent security protocols to safeguard sensitive dataDisaster Recovery: Design and maintain comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to mitigate risk and ensure data integrity in case of system failureSupport & Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level support to end users and application developers, diagnosing and resolving complex database-related issuesPerformance Optimization: Monitor and fine-tune systems for optimal efficiency, applying proactive solutions to minimize downtime and maximize throughputCapacity Planning: Conduct usage analysis and growth forecasting to ensure scalability in line with business needsPolicy Implementation: Develop and enforce standards, procedures, and best practices for database management and data protectionStrategic Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align database initiatives with broader organizational objectivesContinuous Improvement: Propose and implement improvements to increase system resilience, reliability, and performanceYour Growth Path at Kyndryl Italia Innovation ServicesAt Kyndryl, every role is a stepping stone to greater opportunities. Our industry-leading training programs offer:Hands-on experience with real-world systemsCertifications across major platforms (Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle)Exposure to diverse industries, from finance to retail, enables you to specialize or broaden your technical expertiseJoin us and shape the backbone of tomorrow’s digital infrastructure—where your skills, ideas, and initiative directly impact global innovation.Who You AreRequired Technical and Professional Expertise:· Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration, including performance tuning, backup strategies, and security configurationPreferred Technical and Professional Experience:· Proficient in Microsoft Windows Server implementation, configuration, and ongoing management· Experience in IT automation, particularly with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platforms and tools· Working knowledge of MS SQL and MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including installation, maintenance, and query optimization· Familiarity with Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) in on-premises environments, along with integration and administration of Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and/or Azure Active Directory (Azure AD)The position will be governed by the Italian National Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees of the Metalworking Industry (Contratto Collettivo Nazionale di Lavoro per i dipendenti dell’Industria Metalmeccanica e della Installazione di Impianti), with classification as Impiegato.The employment contract may be offered as a permanent employment contract (contratto a tempo indeterminato).The starting salary for this position in Kyndryl Italia Innovation Services is 39.520,00 based on a full-time schedule at the time of posting. Your final compensation offer may vary depending on several factors such as, geographical tier, job-related skills, education and experience that selected candidates bring to the team.
