We’re supporting a leading multidisciplinary design and project consultancy in Milan with the appointment of an experienced Construction Project Manager to support the delivery of major Data Centre and Mission Critical projects.

Please note: this is a specialist Data Centre position.

To be considered, candidates must:

Already be based in Italy

Have the existing right to work in Italy without employer sponsorship

Have demonstrable experience delivering Data Centre or Mission Critical projects

Have worked across multiple Data Centre projects, rather than having exposure to a single project

Have strong practical knowledge of MEP systems and multidisciplinary construction coordination.

If your background is primarily residential, general commercial, infrastructure or non-mission-critical construction without significant Data Centre experience, this particular opportunity is unlikely to be the right fit.

The Role

Working closely with clients, design teams, contractors and specialist consultants, you’ll provide day-to-day leadership and coordination across complex Data Centre construction projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

Managing Data Centre projects through construction, commissioning and final handover

Coordinating multidisciplinary MEP, CSA, design and construction teams

Managing General Contractors, specialist contractors and consultants

Driving project programmes, key milestones and delivery schedules

Monitoring project cost, quality, risk and overall performance

Managing site progress and identifying potential programme or technical issues

Coordinating MEP installation and interfaces across disciplines

Supporting procurement, tendering and contractor appointment processes

Managing client, contractor and stakeholder relationships

Managing variations, changes and project reporting

Supporting testing, commissioning, snagging and operational handover

Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required technical and quality standards

About You

We’re interested in speaking with experienced Construction Project Managers who can demonstrate:

Significant Data Centre / Mission Critical construction experience

Experience delivering multiple Data Centre projects

Strong MEP knowledge and experience coordinating Mechanical, Electrical and specialist building-services packages

Experience managing projects during the live construction phase

Experience working with General Contractors, subcontractors, consultants and client teams

Strong understanding of programme, cost, risk, quality and change management

Experience supporting testing, commissioning and handover

Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills

The ability to operate confidently within a fast-paced international project environment

A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline would be advantageous

Professional accreditation such as PMP, RICS, CIOB or equivalent would be beneficial

Location & Right to Work

This position requires someone who is already based in Italy and able to work in Italy without employer sponsorship.

Unfortunately, relocation from outside Italy and visa sponsorship cannot be supported for this particular appointment.

The Opportunity

You’ll be joining an established multidisciplinary consultancy delivering complex Data Centre and Mission Critical projects across Italy and the wider European market.

The role offers the opportunity to work across the full construction lifecycle, combining construction management, MEP coordination, client leadership, commissioning and project delivery.

Both permanent and contract/freelance profiles may be considered, depending on experience and availability.
