Within the Cyber & Security Solutions Area, we are looking for a NATO / EDA Research Study Coordinator for our Genoa or Rome Laurentina office.

The person will be responsible for the following activities:

• Monitor research and innovation opportunities promoted by NATO Science & Technology Organization (STO), NCIA, DIANA, NATO Innovation Fund, European Defence Agency (EDA) and other international defense and security organizations;
• Analyze NATO and European programmatic documents, technological roadmaps and capability priorities in order to identify development opportunities for the Division's product and solution portfolio;
• Coordinate the Division's participation in research studies, Technical Activities, Working Groups, Capability Technology Groups and collaborative initiatives promoted by NATO and EDA in line with divisional research and innovation objectives;
• Ensure oversight of assigned activities in various collaborative studies, monitoring their progress, deliverables and milestones;
• Facilitate the preparation of position papers, technical contributions, concept/white papers and study proposals in collaboration with T&P research laboratories;
• Manage relationships with other partners involved in NATO and EDA initiatives (other Leonardo divisions, national and European industrial partners, universities, research centers and national MoD representatives);
• Make the results produced by the studies available to support the definition of the division's technological strategy and the evolution of research roadmaps.

Educational qualification:

Degree in STEM disciplines.

Seniority: Senior - 5/10 years of previous experience in the role.

Technical knowledge and skills:

• Knowledge of NATO and EDA ecosystems and the main research and innovation programs in the Defense and Security sector;
• General knowledge of the technologies on which the division focuses its research (Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Technologies, Crypto & Quantum Technologies);
• Knowledge of international collaborative research processes and methods of participation in technical working groups;
• Ability to analyze technical-strategic documentation and transform it into project and industrial opportunities;
• Previous participation in NATO STO, EDA CapTech, EDF, Horizon Europe initiatives or international research programs is a plus.

• Knowledge of technological analysis and competitive intelligence tools is welcome.

Other (e.g. Willingness to travel, specific certifications…):

• Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad;
• Willingness to participate in technical meetings and international workshops at NATO, EDA and European partner offices;
• Suitability for obtaining or maintaining Security Clearance (NOS) is welcome.

How does the selection process work?

Following the collection of applications, the CVs most in line with the required requirements are evaluated and identified.
