Quality Process Control Specialist

The Quality Process Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring the consistent quality of the company products throughout the manufacturing process at the Essentra Components facility in Cambiago, Italy. The role focuses on monitoring production processes, conducting in-process quality controls, analyzing process performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, waste, and customer complaints. The position works closely with Production, Maintenance, and Customer Service teams to ensure products meet customer specifications and company quality standards.

Typical Accountabilities:

• Monitor and control manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with product specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements
• Perform regular process audits and in-process inspections on plastic injection molding operations
• Analyze production data and quality indicators to identify trends, process deviations, and opportunities for improvement
• Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies to monitor process capability and stability
• Investigate quality issues, non-conformities, scrap generation, and customer complaints using structured problem-solving techniques
• Lead or support root cause analysis activities using tools such as 8D, Fishbone Diagram, 5 Whys, and Pareto Analysis
• Collaborate with Production and Manufacturing teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Maintain and update process control plans, inspection instructions, and quality documentation
• Support validation and qualification activities related to new molds, materials, products, or process changes
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management System requirements and applicable standards
• Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing defects, improving process capability, and increasing production efficiency
• Assist in internal audits and support external customer or certification audits, collaborating with the Quality Manager
• Prepare quality reports and performance metrics for management review
• In collaboration with the Quality Manager and the Production Manager might conduct internal training on quality standards and process control practices

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Reduction of internal defects and scrap rate
• Reduction of customer complaints and returns
• Timely closure of corrective and preventive actions
• Compliance with quality audit requirements
• Reduction of non-conformities and process deviations

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Materials Science, Quality Management, or a related technical field
• Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Process Quality within a manufacturing environment
• Experience with process monitoring and quality improvement projects
• Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding processes and related quality controls
• Familiarity with dimensional inspections, measurement systems, and testing methodologies
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis
• Ability to analyze technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
• Team-oriented approach and ability to collaborate across functions
