About the role We’re looking for a Solutions Engineer who can bridge deep technical expertise with strong customer engagement. This role is ideal for either an experienced Pre-Sales/Solutions Engineer looking for a deep-tech challenge, or a senior DevOps/SRE/Cloud Engineer with strong communication skills ready to transition into a customer-facing career. In this role, you’ll work closely with prospects and our Sales team to analyze complex architecture challenges, demonstrate how Akamas addresses them, design tailored solutions, and lead hands-on Proof of Concepts (PoCs) in real customer environments. If you enjoy breaking down technical complexity, explaining technology clearly, and proving the real-world value of a solution hands-on, this could be a great fit. What you will do Lead technical discovery with prospects to understand their architecture, challenges, requirements, and business goals. Deliver technical product demos tailored to different audiences, from engineers and architects to technical and executive stakeholders. Manage and resolve technical inquiries during the sales process. Lead and execute Proof of Concepts that prove how Akamas works in real environments Shape tailored solutions to match customers’ needs. Respond to RFI/RFP requests with clear and detailed technical information. Partner with Product & Engineering to make sure what we promise is real and scalable What we're looking for 5+ years of experience in either technical customer-facing roles (Solutions Engineer, TAM) OR hands-on engineering roles (DevOps, SRE, Performance, Cloud/System Engineer). Strong knowledge of enterprise architectures based on Kubernetes . Familiarity with observability solutions (such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Grafana, etc.) Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience engaging with technical and executive stakeholders. Flexible and proactive, able to balance pre-sales, PoC execution, and handover to Customer Success teams. Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate confidently in technical discussions, customer meetings, presentations, and written communications. Nice to have Background in performance engineering. Experience in tuning complex IT Stacks (based on Java, Node.js, Go, ...). Proficiency in major cloud platforms (AWS, Google, etc.). Strong scripting/automation skills (Bash, Python). Why Akamas? About the offer Contract Type : Italian Collective Labour Agreement - CCNL Commercio Compensation: The expected gross annual salary (RAL) for this position starts from €48,000 and will depend on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications assessed throughout the selection process.
