You will serve as the technical lead and team manager for the mechanical division, guiding a multidisciplinary team composed of mechanical designers, mechanical engineers, and an automation engineer. You will have end-to-end responsibility for managing automation projects.
This is a field-oriented management position: you will be expected to be actively present on the shop floor, driving technological innovation and ensuring operational excellence through a rigorous Lean approach and a strong culture of accountability. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities

• 
  
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team, including mechanical designers, mechanical engineers, and automation specialists, providing technical guidance, coaching, and clear project priorities.
  
• Take full ownership of automation and robotics projects, managing the complete lifecycle from concept and design through implementation, commissioning, and validation.
  
• Drive the development of new automated equipment and continuously improve existing manufacturing processes and production lines.
  
• Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, working closely with production teams to identify opportunities, solve technical challenges, and ensure successful project execution.
  
• Champion Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and operational performance.
  
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with quality and performance expectations.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Operations to develop and implement innovative technical solutions that meet business and plant objectives.
  
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and engineering excellence while supporting the professional growth of your team.
  

Required Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
  
• 6–7 years of experience in industrial automation, robotics, or manufacturing engineering, including experience leading automation projects in an industrial environment.
  
• Previous experience managing technical teams or coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  
• Strong knowledge of industrial machinery design, automation systems, and manufacturing processes.
  
• Experience with mechanical design software (preferably Creo), CAD systems, and Product Data Management (PDM) tools.
  
• Solid understanding of PLC-controlled automation systems and industrial automation logic.
  
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating automated manufacturing equipment.
  
• Proven knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, results-driven mindset.
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
  
• Professional proficiency in both Italian and English, written and spoken.

Fascia retributive: Tra € 50.4000 e € 75.600 lordi annui. La retribuzione specifica offerta terrà conto dell'istruzione, delle qualifiche, dell'esperienza e delle competenze del candidato.

The pay range for this position: Between € 50.400 and € 75.600 gross per annum. The specific pay offered will consider the candidate’s education, qualifications, experience and skill set.

Stipendio Base: La retribuzione seguirà le tabelle salariali previste dal CCNL di categoria Chimico Farmaceutico

Base salary: The remuneration is established according to the Chimico Farmaceutico NCBA salary scale, which defines employment levels and minimum salary levels.

Pensione Integrativa (FONCHIM): Tutti i livelli sono eligibili Contributo del datore di lavoro: 2,1%. Contributo del dipendente: 1,2%. Base di calcolo: retribuzione mensile lorda.

Pension Fund (Fonchim): All levels are eligible Employer Contribution: 2.1%. Employee Contribution: 1.2%. Base: monthly gross salary.
