Kaigos is building the autonomy layer for industrial robots starting with welding where a robot has to perceive a seam plan a path and adapt its parameters in real time against molten metal that doesnt forgive mistakes. Hard perception and control problems with immediate physical feedback. Fast growing small team real deployments in production at customer sites and an autonomy stack that generalises well past welding.
Were funded by our customers not investors and we intend to keep it that way. We build what someone has committed to buying prove it in production then scale.
Were looking for an Automation Engineer to keep bringing our welding robots into real production at customer sites and to own that process end to end as we grow. Youd sit between the customer and the robot: understand the production problem define the solution and commission the system until it passes acceptance and welds parts that ship. This is a role for someone who wants to run a deployment not just contribute to one and whos aiming to lead an automation function as the team grows.
This role is customer-facing and hands-on. It demands the ability to ship not just prototype.
Nice-to-have (a plus not blocking): robotics experience or a solid software-engineering background.
