Quality Engineer – Failure Analysis

This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who have a solid technical background and a passion for failure analysis, product quality, and reliability engineering.You will support the examination of customer-reported problems in this position. You will take part in determining root causes and cooperate with various teams to boost product quality and stop failures from happening again.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport failure analysis (FA) activities on returned products to identify failure mechanismsSupport root cause analysis through structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D)Examine test data, logs, and manufacturing information to detect patterns and irregularitiesContribute to preparation of technical reports (FA reports, 8D) for internal and customer use leveraging AIWork with cross-functional teams (Build, Process, Manufacturing, Reliability) to support issue resolutionParticipate in quality monitoring and data analysis to track trends and detect deviations applying AIAssist in the definition and tracking of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)Support continuous improvement initiatives and process standardizationQualifications / RequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Engineering, Electronics, or related fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsBasic understanding of electronics and semiconductor devicesFamiliarity with data analysis (Excel, basic statistics)Good communication skills and ability to work in a teamPreferred QualificationsInternship or academic experience in failure investigation, reliability, or quality engineeringExperience with memory technology such as NAND, SSD, eMMC, UFSFamiliarity with Linux environment or scripting (Python) and AI toolsFundamental understanding of quality tools (8D, root cause analysis)Key SkillsAnalytical thinking and attention to detailStructured problem solvingWillingness to learn and grow in a technical environmentCollaboration in cross-functional and global teamsClear technical communicationWhat You Will LearnIn this role, you will have the opportunity to develop a solid foundation in quality engineering and failure analysis within the semiconductor industry. You will:Gain practical experience in failure analysis techniques and diagnostic methodologiesDiscover how to implement organized problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D, root cause analysis) in practical situationsAcquire knowledge of memory technologies (e.g., NAND, SSD, eMMC, UFS) and the ways they can failDevelop skills in data analysis, including interpreting test results, logs, and manufacturing dataUnderstand the complete product quality process, from customer return through root cause analysis and resolutionWork with worldwide cross-functional teams and learn how to collaborate across engineering fieldsSee customer-facing quality processes and technical communicationProactively explore opportunities to contribute to process improvements and automation initiativesThe base salary range that Micron estimates it could pay in for this position full-time is:33.000,00 - 56.000,00 per year, with B2 CCNL Level.Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
