What you’ll do

• Lead the design and implementation of mechanical systems for data centers, ensuring they meet operational requirements and industry standards.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of HVAC systems, chillers, and other critical mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and structural engineers, to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into overall data center designs.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of mechanical systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
• Analyze system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary modifications or upgrades.
• Manage vendor relationships and oversee procurement processes for mechanical equipment and services.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and maintenance staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on critical environments or data centers.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, cooling technologies, and mechanical design principles.
• Proven experience in project management, including overseeing mechanical system installations and upgrades.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to data center operations and safety.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools for system design and analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
