KPMG Advisory offers consulting services to companies to assist them in business model transformation, process improvement and digitalization, risk analysis and management, and support in extraordinary finance transactions. Specifically, when you join the Supply Chain & Operations team in Milan, you will support projects focused on transforming end-to-end planning processes, including Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Factory Scheduling, and S&OP/IBP. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside experienced professionals, contributing to the adoption of modern planning solutions, best practices, and innovative technologies. Specifically, you will be for:

• Supporting demand and supply planning activities, including data collection, baseline forecast preparation, and the maintenance of planning parameters and calendars.
• Contributing to the definition, monitoring, and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs), such as forecast accuracy, forecast bias, service level, and inventory turns, through reports and dashboards.
• Collaborating on data quality improvement initiatives by maintaining master data, validating key attributes and lead times, identifying anomalies, and working with the team to implement corrective actions.
• Preparing analyses and presentation materials for S&OP meetings and workshops, as well as documenting meeting minutes and tracking action items.
• Assisting in the implementation and enhancement of APS/IBP platforms by supporting data mapping, user acceptance testing (UAT), documentation, and the creation of user guides.
• Automating repetitive tasks using tools such as Excel and Power BI, while maintaining and improving templates, reports, and shared libraries.
• Working effectively with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, Finance, and IT, to ensure clear communication and successful collaboration.
• Learning and applying forecasting methodologies appropriate to the business context, including statistical and machine learning techniques, under the guidance of senior team members.

Come As You Are - Your skills and characteristics This is the perfect opportunity for you if you have:

• A Master's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electronic Engineering) or another STEM discipline, achieved with excellent academic results.
• Up to one year of experience, including internships, in planning or operations within industries such as Consumer Goods, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, or Automotive.
• A basic understanding of statistical forecasting methods and their appropriate applications, with a strong willingness to develop expertise in advanced forecasting techniques and machine learning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and charts; familiarity with Power Query is a plus. Initial experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools is also desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, a structured approach to work, and a proactive attitude toward learning.
• An excellent knowledge of English, ideally with study and/or work experience abroad.

This opportunity is offered as either an internship or a standard employment contract under the collective labour agreement for the commerce sector, with a gross annual salary of €29,000. The salary is determined on the basis of objective criteria, including educational qualifications and an assessment of the candidate’s profile against the requirements of the role.
