Within the Space Division, we are looking for a HW/SW Configuration Engineering Specialist for our office in Nerviano (MI).

The person will operate within the HW & SW Configuration & Standardization unit, with the aim of ensuring the integrity, consistency and traceability of the configuration of hardware products intended for space programs throughout their life cycle (design, development, production, testing, qualification and maintenance).

The person will be responsible for:

• Defining and updating the Configuration Management Plan in accordance with contractual requirements, coordinating Configuration Management activities;
• Defining the list of Configuration Items, supporting the definition of the Product Breakdown Structure (PBS) and implementing unique coding and numbering systems for part codes, item types and revisions;
• Creating and maintaining functional, allocated and product baselines;
• Receiving and evaluating change requests, convening and chairing Change Control Boards; analyzing the impacts of variations and ensuring that approvals and implementations follow the authorized Workflow;
• Monitoring the status of configuration items, maintaining configuration logs and reports, providing periodic updates to management, participating in project reviews and conducting configuration verifications and audits;
• Defining naming rules and attribute sets for each component category, standardizing materials and components and developing corporate libraries;
• Administering and using PLM tools to model product structures, manage baselines and ensure traceability of configuration information;
• Ensuring that Technical Data Packages are complete, consistent and compliant with contractual requirements;
• Drafting and maintaining manuals, procedures, CM plans and technical reports, ensuring their quality, completeness and traceability;
• Defining Configuration Management requirements for subcontractors and industrial partners;
• Preparing periodic reports, KPIs and metrics related to the status of configurations and the progress of changes;
• Actively participating in review boards.

Education:

• Three-year and/or Master's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronic, Management Engineering and/or related disciplines.

Required experience level:

• Junior: 1-3 years of experience in the role

Technical skills and knowledge:

• Knowledge of Configuration Management processes;
• Experience in defining and managing functional, allocated and product baselines;
• Knowledge of PLM and major digital automation systems;
• Knowledge of mechanical, electronic and embedded software hardware architectures;
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, drawings and CAD models;
• Experience in material and component standardization, technical library management, obsolescence monitoring and EEE component related standards;
• Operational knowledge of REACH and RoHS environmental regulations;
• Experience with PLM/PDM platforms (Teamcenter, Windchill, 3DEXPERIENCE/ENOVIA, Aras Innovator);
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP), CAD (CATIA, NX, Creo), Change Management tools (JIRA, ClearQuest), document platforms (SharePoint, Confluence) and Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau);
• Knowledge of Excel, SQL and Python for data analysis and data management activities.

• Data analysis and reporting: Advanced use of Excel (Power Query, pivot tables), SQL and Python; use of Business Intelligence (BI) systems such as Power BI and Tableau to monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and create dashboards.
• Office and communication tools: Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

How does the selection process work?
