Global Category IT Manager

Role Purpose
The IT Category Manager is responsible for executing sourcing activities across IT spend categories, including software, hardware, SaaS, cloud, telecom, and professional services. The role operates within the strategy framework and requirements defined by the IT Function, leading RFx processes, managing supplier commercial relationships, and ensuring cost-effective and compliant agreements in line with Global Procurement policies.

Reports to: Indirect Spend & CapEx Director, Global Procurement.

Key Responsibilities
Sourcing Execution

• Manage end-to-end RFx processes across IT categories.
• Apply competitive bidding where feasible.
• Collect and document single-source justifications when required.

Commercial Negotiation

• Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, penalties, liabilities, and other commercial conditions.
• Ensure alignment between commercial agreements and IT technical requirements.

Contract Management

• Draft, review, and manage contracts with IT suppliers.
• Monitor contract renewals and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate contract-related activities with Legal.

Requirements Collection

• Gather and formalize procurement requirements from IT stakeholders.
• Translate technical needs into structured sourcing projects.

Supplier Performance & Market Intelligence

• Conduct supplier performance reviews and benchmark analyses.
• Monitor market trends and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Provide insights and recommendations to IT and Procurement leadership.

Qualifications & Experience
Education

• University degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in indirect procurement.
• Proven exposure to IT categories including software, hardware, cloud solutions, and digital services.
• Experience working within procurement governance frameworks.

IT Knowledge

• Solid understanding of SaaS licensing models.
• Knowledge of cloud pricing structures (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with hardware refresh cycles and lifecycle management.
• Understanding of managed services contracts and IT sourcing practices.

Systems & Tools

• Experience with SAP, Jaggaer, or equivalent ERP systems.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with spend analytics and reporting tools.

Languages & Compliance

• Fluent Italian & English is mandatory.
• Familiarity with contract law principles.
• Understanding of IT-specific data protection and compliance requirements.

Salary Package
CCNL Chimico – Farmaceutico, Quadro, RAL 60-70K + MBO.

Place of work: Milan, with a remote working policy: 2 days a week.
