Mould Engineer EMEA

As Mould Engineer you will play a key role in managing the technical sourcing and development of injection moulds ensuring the successful transition from product design to industrialized manufacturing solutions. Reporting within our EMEA Engineering organization you will collaborate closely with Product Development Procurement Manufacturing and external suppliers to ensure mould designs meet performance quality manufacturability and cost objectives.

The role will be mainly based at our production site in Casella (GE) Italy or in our site in Zola Predosa (BO) but will be required to travel to the other Italian site on a regular basis according to specific needs while also operating within a truly international environment as part of our EMEA Engineering team. You will collaborate with colleagues across multiple countries and contribute to projects with regional impact. Occasional travel across the EMEA region will be required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role you will oversee the full technical sourcing process for injection moulds from plastic part design through to the commissioning and qualification of moulds within our manufacturing facilities. You will act as the technical expert for mould-related activities ensuring optimal design solutions supporting supplier selection and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the EMEA region.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Provide technical input during product development to ensure designs meet both performance and manufacturability requirements
• Prepare technical specifications for mould sourcing activities and support Procurement in supplier selection processes
• Lead the mould sourcing process including technical reviews design validation quotation analysis and supplier coordination
• Review and approve mould designs ensuring alignment with quality performance and cost objectives
• Track project progress and provide regular updates on mould development activities to stakeholders
• Participate in cross-functional project meetings providing technical expertise and escalating risks when required
• Support mould commissioning activities in collaboration with Process and Manufacturing Engineering teams
• Validate and qualify new moulds ensuring compliance with quality standards and production requirements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with mould suppliers conducting technical assessments and performance reviews
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives across EMEA and global engineering communities

ABOUT YOU

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Materials Engineering or a related technical field
• Strong expertise in mould design tool steels and injection moulding technologies
• Solid understanding of mould manufacturing and plastic injection processes
• Experience working with 3D CAD software
• Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
• Experience operating within international and multicultural environments ideally in matrix organizations
• Strong sense of ownership technical rigor and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Experience interacting with suppliers and conducting technical reviews
• Fluent English is required; additional European languages are considered a plus

WHAT WE OFFER

We offer a gross annual salary range of 35.000 43.700 level range C-A according to Gomma Plastica Industria Italian CLA as well as a comprehensive benefits package including:
