Position Overview
We’re looking for a Junior Plant Buyer in Arco (TN). The new resource will report to Purchasing SR. Manager and will be the first point of escalation to purchasing and suppliers for main plant functions like logistics, quality, and engineering. The role coordinates new requisitions for product launches, standard prototype launches with plant logistics, serves as the first point of coordination within purchasing for Blumesource CRM portal and EDI, and has administrative responsibilities for price list and IPR approval submission. The position requires SAP purchasing superuser administration and support for the EU purchasing director and senior manager.
Main Opportunities and Challenges
Front office position in a multiethnic environment where English is the primary used language. Opportunity to develop deep knowledge and relationships with important functions in the company and vendors, and deep knowledge of SAP function as purchasing superuser, CRM, and EDI. Possibility to develop and grow as a buyer.
Responsibilities
For the assigned commodity, implement the development of supply base management strategies that lead to lowest total cost in terms of quality, inventory, lead time, delivery, service and unit cost.
Select suppliers using the sourcing procedure, negotiate long‑term and supply contracts where applicable, and maintain performance expectations through negotiation of prices and terms to achieve the best overall purchase decision.
Keep abreast of market conditions, competitor benchmarking, new developments and manufacturing techniques for assigned commodities by maintaining close contacts with suppliers.
Support the launch of new prototypes and work with business/product lines to solve suppliers’ issues. Administrative responsibilities for the assigned commodities.
Education
University bachelor degree in Economics, Engineering, or Foreign languages.
Professional Background
1 to 3 years’ experience in a purchasing department (preferential requirement).
Hard Skills
Essential: English language proficiency; Excel and Power BI knowledge.
Considered a plus: SAP knowledge.
Soft Skills
Flexibility and team‑working oriented.
Excellent communication skills.
Sense of responsibility.
Strongly self‑motivated, determined, proactive, result driven.
Ability to learn and to work under pressure.
