At Alpiq, your energy matters!

As an Originator, you drive the development and execution of long‑term commercial transactions in the Italian energy market, ranging from physical and virtual PPAs to structured supply and asset‑linked solutions. The role combines market insight, commercial creativity and analytical rigor to identify value‑accretive opportunities that expand Alpiq’s portfolio and support clients on their decarbonization journey. Success requires close collaboration with Structured Trading, Risk, Legal and central teams to ensure coherent pricing, sound valuation and hedging alignment, ultimately contributing to the long‑term risk‑adjusted PnL of the Italian business.

Your Main Responsibilities:

• Originate and structure physical and virtual PPAs, long‑term hedges, and structured transactions, ensuring commercial competitiveness, value creation and alignment with Alpiq’s risk appetite.
• Drive and support commercial and contractual negotiations with clients, producers and counterparties, coordinating closely with the Legal team to ensure robust and compliant contractual frameworks.
• Provide market insights, quantitative valuations and structured business cases to support internal decision‑making and strengthen transaction value and feasibility.
• Identify and originate opportunities linked to decarbonization, renewable attributes and sustainability‑driven products, contributing to portfolio growth and customer value.
• Support the development and improvement of products, procedures and systems that enhance the PPA and hedging business and improve execution quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Structured Trading to ensure coherent pricing assumptions, valuation alignment and hedging consistency, providing commercial insight and strategic thinking.
• Coordinate with Risk, Credit, Treasury, Finance and other corporate functions to ensure proper governance, risk assessment and completion of the required internal approval processes.
• Ensure timely and transparent communication of deal pipeline, commercial progress and key risks, and report directly to the Head of Origination Italy.

Your Impact:

• Contribute to value-accretive long-term transactions that expand Alpiq’s Italian commercial portfolio.
• Develop trusted relationships with key producers, large consumers, and market counterparties, enabling a sustainable origination pipeline.
• Enhance coordination with Structured Trading, Legal, and Risk, improving consistency and quality of deal execution.
• Support the development of innovative sustainability and decarbonization-focused products.
• Contribute to the long-term risk-adjusted profitability (PnL) of the Italian structured portfolio through disciplined pricing, structuring, and commercial positioning.

Your Profile:

• 5+ years of experience in origination, structured energy trading, or business development.
• Demonstrated experience in structuring and executing complex long-term energy transactions.
• Strong experience with physical and virtual PPA structures, including pricing, valuation, and negotiation.
• Familiarity with EFET and long-term structured contract frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Italian power.
• Strong creativity and strategic thinking, with the ability to identify new origination opportunities and shape innovative, value‑accretive commercial solutions.
• Analytical skills to build valuations and business cases.
• Native-level Italian and excellent English (written and spoken).
• Experience with sustainability-related commercial solutions.
• Understanding of regulatory, market, and credit risk principles.
• Strong ability to collaborate effectively across multiple internal functions
